Where can I get a fishing pole in world of warcraft?
yeah, I heard you get it from some trade merchant or something, but where can I find them?
You can get fishing poles from Quests, from Vendors, and from drops in the “world” (shellfish traps).
Depending on which route you want to go, there are a number of fishing pole options for you.

There are a number of specialty fishing poles that have +fishing modifiers on them, usually obtained through questing, but there is a +5 pole that you can get from vendors as well. It can be found in that first link.
