Does anyone know what it means to “whisper” to someone in World of Warcraft?

my boyfriend whispers to a girl and she whispers back…can other people see it?
Also…can everyone hear when someone says something to someone else or can you have a “private” conversation in the game via headphones and a mic??
…Does Ventrillo have an option to keep voice chats?

A whisper is a private conversation between two characters. nobody but them can hear it. There are options to say, yell, and talk in channels as well. if you say, people that are close hear it. if you yell, people that are a little farther away can hear it. there are also channels in each zone, if you talk in those, everyone in that zone can hear it. hope this helps.
